Will becoming a vegetarian help me lose weight?
I just decided to become a vegetarian, because I’ve read that meat and dairy is not good for you. I’m not a big meat eater anyway, so I know it won’t be too hard for me, personally. Has anyone lost weight after eating vegan? I’m trying to eat more fruits and vegies and cut out my simple carbs, and of course replace my protein intake with nuts, tofu, beans, etc. I am not only cutting out meat, but also dairy and eggs. Any advice will be appreciated greatly! Thanks.

There is just as much junk vegan food as their is regular junk food, but being vegan will do great things for your health and weight if you are a healthy vegan.
Eating fruits, veggies, and nuts ,tofu and beans, is being a healthy vegan and cutting out simple carbs so you will definitely lose weight on your new healthy diet

Eating meat was the way in which humans gained enough energy to enable their brain to develop to the extent it has.
Now, with the vast range of high protein high energy non-meat foods that have been produced through modern technology, it is possible, provided you take great care, to live healthily on non-meat products.
You can also live very well on a diet containing meat.

i would start slow on this. there are many complex proteins in meat, eggs ,and dairy that require a lot of nutritional knowledge to compensate for in a vegan diet. i would do lots of research before a final plunge into a vegan lifestyle. i,ve read that the average vegan looses about ten lbs. if the program is done well. good luck.

I believe it can help you lose weightbut only if you are eating correctly. Like any food, if you eat to much of anything, you will gain extra weight. Stay on a good food intake schedule and you’ll do great

It sounds like it might. BUT don’t just suddenly cut out dairy and eggs. Just start gradually (maybe eating them only once or twice a week t first).
That sounds like a reallyhealthy diet
