I never thought about vitamins and proteins when I started as a vegetarian about 14 years ago. I never had any problems as I were eating dairy and eggs. The main point why I never failed to do so was that I always realized when seeing a piece of meat or sausages that it is a piece of a dead animal. I would have never been able to eat it again. It physically hurt me realizing it. When I started to go vegan it was a bit harder, but the same strategy helped. I realized that each drop of milk or each egg means pain and I always imagined a tortured animal standing behind this product. This way I made it. You have to question everything and follow your heart. Then it will work.

Maybe you need variety. Check recipe sites and books to keep you from getting bored. Also, you can get protein from veggies like kale, spinach, and other dark green leafy vegetables.

Well, maybe it's just not for you. You should talk to your doctor or a nutritionist before you make such a drastic change like this.

Have you had a doctor help you get started? That's the best way to go. I;d also ease into it, cutting out a tiny bit of meat each week.

Many of the vegetarian and Vegan websites have meal plans and nutritional advice on them..why not try following one of those...I can't see any reason for you to get ill, my whole family are nearly Vegan and we DON'T take supplements and my kids never get colds and viruses. Take a hard look at what you are eating and your lifestyle in general. Make sure you are healthy and fit before you start. Its not all about protein...you need your five fruit and veg minimum as well as your carbohydrates.
Good luck :)
