Mankind has been eating meat since the dawn of its existence.
Since we evolved so nicely, and we are the most intelligent and advanced animals on the planet, I don’t think eating meat had any terrible effects.

You don’t have to eat a bird to catch bird flu. You can catch it by coming in contact with an infected bird’s droppings. This can happen by sitting on a park bench with bird droppings on it, touching the bench, and then touching your lunch.

Vegetarians often try to blame the ills of the world on meat. God said we can eat meat, and evolution indicates that meat has been beneficial (or at least non-damaging), so I’m all for it!!!

That said, if you feed the animals tons of hormones and other chemicals before slaughtering them, the meat will quite obviously have some remnants of those chemicals, and that is something to take into consideration next time you chomp a burger.

i have been trying to be a vegetarian for a long time, but sometimes i crave meat so i eat chicken….boil it for a long time. but one thing i’m not going to eat is cow meat…i recommend you read "mad cowboy" by howard f. lyman, an ex cattle rancher.
also more and more i look at these animals very differently than when i was younger and feel sorry for them.

For some people, it is good to be a vegetarian. For some it is not.

    think of it this way:
if humans were ment to eat meat, why do we have to cook milk, meat and eggs to eat it? if humnas were ment to eat other animals, why can’t we just eat them raw, and tear throu their flesh w/our teeth?
try be’n vegan, it good yourself, the envirorment, and animals

i don’t eat ANYTHING that was once a living, breathing, feeling animal. with all the alternatives to meat and meat-related products, it isn’t at all hard to be a vegetarian or a vegan. it is also scientifically proven that being vegetarian/vegan is healthier than eating meat in terms of lower cholesterol, lower risk of heart disease and cancer, etc: http://www.pcrm.org/health/veginfo/vegetarian_foods.html
so all in all, being a vegetarian is a lot healthier- you easily avoid all animal-transmitted diseases, your cancer risk, heart disease risk, and blood pressure can be significantly lowered when you give up meat. it is also morally right considering the way animals are treated in our society and the fact we don’t need to rely on animals for food anymore.
