when i go to uni, i'm considering becoming a vegan?

i’m a vegetarian, who occasionally eats fish to make it easier for my family and friend’s families (please don’t shout at me..). however when i leave for uni, i think it would be sensible to become vegan for a while. mainly because i think it will be cheaper, but also it will be an interesting change for me and i think it will take a lot of willpower. what are your thoughts on this? also, what are some cheap vegan meals for me? thanks

I’m a vegan student, I went vegan in my second year.

My advice would be to transition to veganism – try out vegan recipes, phase out egg and dairy. I was also pescetarian, I transitioned to veganism over about 6 months – from the start of my second year, I had my last non-vegan meal at the beginning of April.

You might want to join a support forum, like http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/index.php which has helped me a lot.

I can also suggest some recipe sites:

    http://www.egglesscooking.com/
    http://www.supercook.com/index.asp (search by ingredients/exclusions)

Being a vegan is GGrrrrreeeeeaaaaaaatt! Canned vegetables and spices and tempeh and canned beans are cheap and good. I eat lots more than that but just about every natural food is already vegan. You pretty much just have to look around and avoid processed foods.
