Sweet Chili Heat doritos (and Tandoori Sizzler, but those suck) are awesome and vegan, but only in Canada :(

I don't have anything I miss, to be honest. Oh, I mentioned elsewhere if I had to pick something It'd probably be the cheap salsa con queso stuff in a jar, like tostitos brand.

Edit to add: Janie, if you can find the hunt's snack pack section in the grocery store, their gel cups are vegan. As are the koolaid brand, I believe. They use carageenan.

A friend of mine makes these cheesy hors d'oeuvres in phyllo dough that I sort of miss (the thought of all the cheese sort grosses me out, too.) They are basically cheese, cheese, butter, cheese, pesto with cheese and cheese. I haven't veganized them yet, but I'm working on it!

For the most part, though, I just get by on a lot of yummy vegan baked goods.

I don't miss anything to do with meat. If I were to miss anything about dairy products or eggs it would be what they contribute to desserts. However, with a lot of desserts you can substitute soy products for the dairy, and egg replacer for the eggs, but there are still some things, like meringue on a lemon pie, or angel food cake, or macaroons that just aren't the same without eggs. But because these desserts contain a lot of sugar, which is also unhealthy, I don't "pine away" for them. There is so much else to enjoy in good, healthy food that I almost never miss the rich desserts anymore.

I miss real cheese on pizza. Somehow the vegan stuff just doesn't cut it, although I've gotten used to cheeseless pizza.

I miss really thick gooey caramel in candies. I learn to live without or use the vegan subs.

I loved sour gummy worms, altough Edward and Sons makes pretty good sour gummis.

I miss being able to go into any candy store and just pick what I want. I now carry food with me in case I get hit with a craving.

I will have to try that Fauxritos idea, though. Thanks!

I miss using eggs to make cakes and patties. And cheese for pizza. For the eggs I'm now using blended linseeds with water. 1/4 cup = 1 egg. For cheese I experimented creating a rubbery cheese with tapioca flour added to the cheese sauce. But somehow it turned out exactly like an eraser rubber.

I really don't miss any food.
I have discovered foods from around the world that are just about 100x better tasting than anything I grew up eating.

I make things like pizza, lasagna, spaghetti, and all kinds of things I used to eat, but I just leave out the meat and put different things in there instead. Simple. For BBQ I often use some veggie burgers and dogs, but I don't see it as a sub for meat. It is what it is. There are organic Doritos now you know? Lots of organic healthier chips etc. out there now. Total rip off in price, but they are good once in awhile.

Probably cheese, and anything that contains it, like Flamin hot Cheetos. I found a salvage store, so that I can buy them and the money doesn't go to the industries. That's better logic than those who think "vegan" only applies to what you eat, anyways.

Dairy. Then I found vanilla soy milk and a type of soy cheese which is actually really nice.

I thought I missed real butter too, then I had some on toast (yes, having a cheat) and it tasted rancid to me.

I don't miss meat at all.
