Product Description
I love supper. It’s friendly and relaxed. It’s easy to invite people over for supper, for there’s a quality of comfort that isn’t always there with dinner, a meal that suggests more serious culinary expectations—truly a joy to meet, but not all the time. Supper, on the other hand, is for when friends happen to run into each other at the farmers’ market or drop in from out of town. Supper is for Sunday night or a Thursday. Supper can be impromptu, it can be potluck, and it can break the formality of a classic menu. With supper, there’s a willingness to make do with what’s available and to cook and eat simply. It can also be special and beautifully crafted if that’s what you want.

A beautiful and useful book filled with unique and delicious meal ideas. If you’re cooking vegetarian and tired of the same old dishes, try this. My favorite gifts lately have been either this book or food items made from this book.

While Deborah Madison’s “Vegetarian Cooking For Everyone” is a wonderful reference book and has great recipes, “Vegetarian Suppers” is a good supplemental book. The recipes are different, delicious and relatively easy to prepare. I have been very pleased with the results of the recipes I have tried. Definitely a additional book for your cookbook shelf.

  4. Great book. Recipes are simple directions are explicit. Each supper gives ideas of what wines accompany each dinner. Each recipe will tell you vegan options. It’s been great for me transitioning into the vegetarian world. My children have been enjoying the food.

I received this book for Christmas and was very excited to dive in. The recipes look very tasty and there are beautiful pictures. Unfortunately, my daughter is lactose intollerant and I am trying to cut down on dairy. Way too many of the recipes are cheese/dairy heavy. Also there is no nutritional information. I like to know the protein content. Things under 10g/serving just don’t seem worth bothering with for my family. If you are just in it for the taste. It looks like a good book. The couple of things I have made were very good.
