I received this book as a gift but it sat on my shelf for a while before I was inspired to use it (I own a lot of cookbooks). One day I noticed I had lots of potatoes and decided I should try making gnocchi. Realizing I own a vegan Italian cookbook, I broke it open and checked the index for a recipe and was pleased to find two. When I flipped to the recipes, I discovered the first ingredient in both recipes was “a 16 oz. package of gnocchi”. That would be fine for a general purpose cookbook aimed at people who don’t cook. But for a specialized cookbook for vegan Italian food, that is totally absurd. It makes anything else in the cookbook highly suspect.
