Pizza and pasta will do that to you if you eat to much of them. This website, run by the Mayo Clinic and has a copy of the vegetarian food pyramid on it. Use it when planing your meals.

Get a hold of vegetarian food pyramid and plan healthy, balanced meals. Stop eating junk food. You’ll lose the weight.

I suggest going to a used bookstore. For about $1.50 you can buy a book called "Eat More, Weigh Less"- Dr. Dean Ornish. This book will teach you how to eat a low-fat, whole-foods vegetarian diet.

A friend of mine is like this.. living off of pasta, pizza, and potatoes. Just balance you’re out a little better than that. Eat more vegetables, fruits, healthier grains, and stick to water. Also, some exercise will help if you’re not doing that already.

Eat more Weight Watchers foods. Eat less food with fat and calories. your RDA is maybe 1,000 calories a day.Run a mile or for 30 mins a day

Give up the pizza and pasta and start enjoying the wholesome goodness of carrot sticks. Carrot sticks are full of essential nutrients and are known for their weight loss properties.

well here is the thing. you are eating junk food. typically vegetarians eat VEGETABLES! if you follow a more traditional vegetarian diet you will lose weight.

and how is eating pizza a pasta easier than vegetables? open fridge,.. rinse,… eat.

Start monitoring your diet. Go to http://www.kraftfoods.com/kf/HealthyLiving/HealthyLivingLandingPage.aspx then click on "Meal & Fitness Planner". Studies show that people that journal their foods lose more weight.

I did not have this problem when I became vegetarian. I was anal about watching my fat intake and rarely splurged.

Pastas aren’t bad for you, nor are marinara or vegetable sauces. It’s when you start adding the cheese and oils that the fat content explodes. But, if that’s all you are eating, then your carb & sugar intake is probably way out of whack with your intake of everything else. When you make pasta, actually follow the recommended servings. Add garlic, mushrooms, olives, tomatoes, peppers, or veggie ‘meat’ crumbles to make the pasta healthier.

Eat more fruits & vegetables. Actual fruits & veggies.

Once you start tracking your calories and fats, your stomach should start to disappear. High carb diets are one of the main reasons that women get that pouch. Regular cardio/aerobic exercise will help as well.

you have to find other foods to eat other than cheese and other dairy which are veyr fattening
eating them is cool, but all teh time, which us veges tend to do, is when you end up putting on too much weight

I started out a Vegetarian and I lost 47 pounds from becoming Vegetarian. I need to lose more weight and have learned how bad all animal products for us and I have since become Vegan. You mentioned Pizza and the first thing that comes to mind is cheese. Cheese can cause belly fat because cheese is fat! Pasta that has eggs in it is fattening as well. Especially if it is white and not whole wheat pasta. You need to eat more Vegetables, whole grains, and fruits. You should consider becoming Vegan if you want to lose weight. It is much easier than you would think, It is much better for your health. Researchers are finally discovering that Animal products are the cause of Diabetes, Stroke, and Heart Attack. We were not made to eat meat and animal products. Exercise is also important. You should do cardio and if you want to tone your stomach Pilates is great exercise. So if you must have pizza make your own Vegan pizza. If you like pasta then go to Whole Foods or another Healthy Food Store and purchase Vegan Pasta. There are some great alternatives out there these days.

cut back on cheese. Put lots of veggies in with your pasta, and have a salad with dinner. Drink lots of water. Exercise regularly.

Vegetarian itself won’t make you skinny if that was what you were trying to accomplish. You diet, and thanks for being honest is not really all that healthy and consists mainly of highly processed starchy foods and dairy. If you were/are looking to lose weight you should stick to a mostly plant based diet (something that is pretty difficult for many westerners) of mostly raw fruits and vegetables, nuts and legumes and if you can limit the amount of dairy you intake. It might seem difficult in the beginning but once you find some good staple and quick to make meals it’ll be much easier.

Cut back on carbs and things full of saturated fat like dairy products.

Always remember that cakes and pie are vegetarian and so are fried foods and if you eat only those-you ain’t going to be svelt. Try to incorporate more vegan things in your diet. There is a book series called skinny b#$% (I figured that yahoo would edit the b word out, but you can guess what it is). It is about a being skinny and vegan-which also will help a vegetarian struggling with weight. Try cutting out some cheese and replace it with nutritional yeast cheez, go for soy milk, use agave or stevia instead of sugar, bake instead of fry (I know how great fried tofu is, but bake can be great too when prepared correctly)…

  14. Kizzy says:

It’s not the vegetarian diet, it’s the junk food you’re eating.

Like someone else said, seek out a vegetarian food pyramid and it will help you out immensely. It might be a good idea to buy a veg cook book as well if you don’t know how to cook.

you need to stop eating those foods.pizza and pasta are just making u fat vegeterians and vegans are always healthy but your just eating fattning foods.

  16. skayp g says:

Try substituting chick peas instead of the pasta, as pasta is very fattening.
