Just abruptly stop eating all meat, fish, dairy, eggs, honey, gelatin, etc.
If I feel healthier, then I’ll become a vegan for life. If not, then I’ll go back to eating a diet rich in meat, dairy, and eggs.
Should I?

I think it would be interesting to see how you feel afterwards. I wouldn’t do it cold turkey though. You will for sure get sick because you’re body isn’t used to that kind of diet. I took small steps as far as giving up meat. I gave up ham, then red meat, chicken, fish, etc. It was a long process.
In all honesty I thought vegan people were crazy. I was a vegetarian off and on and would say ‘at least I’m not a vegan’ and after reading a diet book I wanted to test myself. I thought I wouldn’t last a day and the more I pushed the easier it got and the healthier I felt. At a certain point I didn’t crave the foods I loved before and now I don’t even like the taste of meat and cheese.
Good luck if you do decide to do it. I think everyone should at least try it out before making a judgment.
lol why am I getting thumbs down? really, my message is that bad?
Well i don’t think it will work, because you need protein and grains… and the vitamins eggs, milk and and fish gives your body… most vegans take vitamins, to make up for all the dairy, eggs, and extra they can not eat… i would start off being vegetarian, and then work your way up to vegan if you can handle vegetarian diet.
Hows about you keep eating meat and leave the vegan forum for a few days?
That’s up to you. If you attempt to follow a proper vegan [and taking appropriate steps in doing so...for someone who love meat, quitting abruptly mightn't be a good idea], your only issue will be ‘missing meat’…but in this situation, whatever works for you, proceed in following it.
Why not? If you want to do it, then you should, but if you don’t, then you shouldn’t. It’s your life.
I don’t think you should. No matter what happens, you’ll turn it back on us and still think that everything you say is right, and that everyone should eat meat or they’re somehow a bad person. Look, I understand that you’re trying to make a point to the vegans and vegetarians who terrorized you for asking a serious question way back when (to those who don’t know I’m not making this up), but really, why can’t you let our diet be our choice? If what you say is all true, we’ll all be dead in a few years from the various deficiencies, and you won’t have to worry about us anymore. Must you give us so much grief during our [short?] lives?
go right ahead and do as you please…. One good thing about the luxury of lifestyle choices is that they can reversed if you are not happy with the ones you make…
you could, it’s not like you can’t go back if you don’t like it. my recommendation is that you ease into it and give your body time to adjust. if you do it for one day you might not like the results and if you don’t stick with it at least you’ve tried something new and (hopefully) got a new perspective.
I prefer eating vegan-style BUT on occasion i will eat dairy and meat when my body requests………..being a vegan is much more cost effective AND better for your heart
once you kill all the bacteria for meat breakdown in the stomach you could get sick if you go back, sure it takes weeks though. i just think you miss out on all that good food, meat can be used in moderation, but it is apart of the natural human diet
Hmm. Well, you should probably plan what you are going to eat with some care. Based on your questions and answers (to say nothing of your avatar!), you obviously eat a lot of meat. Therefore, you have to think carefully about what you are going to replace it with. Otherwise, you may end up eating a very unbalanced diet, which will make you feel less than optimal. In general, abrupt changes in diet are not a good idea. It would probably be better to start cutting out things every few days. You could also ease into vegetarianism first and see how that goes. That way, you would still be eating eggs, milk etc.

The second one is meant for vegetarians but is still very helpful.
Have fun!
Of course you’re not going to feel healthier after only a few days. Do you realize how long it would take to detox all of the animal out of your body? Abruptly stopping your diet and changing it would result in abrupt sickness. If you decide to try veganism, you would have to stick with it past the detox process, which, depending on what you currently eat, could take weeks to months…for you probably the latter. If you actually do decide to give it a try for more than "a few days" I’d recommend kombucha to help flush yourself out: http://www.synergydrinks.com/
