What is healthier a vegetarian diet with lots of carbohydrates or a mostly meat diet with lots of proteins?

My vegetarian girlfriend disagree on this, just wanted to hear what other people think. And I’m only talking about one or the other, if anyone says a balanced diet is best they get a thumbs down, that’s just stating the obvious.

I'm a 23-year-old man and thinking about becoming a vegetarian.?

The problem is that I work out quite a lot and don’t want to be really skinny. How do vegetarians get their protein? I want to do this because when I eat meat now, it just doesn’t feel right and I think a lot about the process of how it got onto my plate. Do you get ill more often as well? Or is that just a myth? Thanks.

Is it true that a vegetarian diet will slow down your aging?

I’ve heard that long practicing vegetarians don’t look as old as they are. Any proof of this?

What was it that made you change from eating meat to becoming a vegetarian or vegan?

Was it one profound moment or was it something you read or watched? I read just one book called Eating Animals by Jonathan Foer Safran after which I stopped eating meat. I’d like to read or watch more like this, i.e. unbiased (in my opinion!). Love to hear if you’d like to share. Thanks
