Well, yes obviously the more things you eliminate from your diet the more difficult it is going to be to find foods and recipes that fit your meal plan. However, in the world today, everyone is so worried about their health and there are new diseases “labeled” everyday, it is becoming easier to be vegan and yeast free. Being vegan means different things to different people. A great vegetarian soup recipe is not just all about preparing your appetite for a healthy vegetarian meal – it should be healthy as well. To help you come up with some of your very own vegetarian soup recipe, here are some tips.

Experiment

When it comes to vegetarian recipes, there is really no hard-and-fast rule. You just have to follow the preliminary basics and then let your imagination rule. This means that you may just have to sauté the usual garlic, onions and your choice of vegetables, add the soup stock or vegetable broth and then add whatever you like including spices. If you are preparing a cold and raw vegetarian soup recipe, then you can experiment by swapping some ingredients like watermelon for tomatoes or vice versa.

The only general rule is to basically respect your taste buds and whoever you are cooking for. It would be better though to reserve experimentation on your free days and simply use tested soup recipes on regular days when you have little time.

I’m a very fussy eater and I don’t’ a lot of vegetables but I could survive on the ones I do eat. I know you need to eat other things to replace the nutrients you lose when you don’t eat meat but I want to know is it worth my wild becoming a vegetarian if I’m a fussy eater and don’t eat every single vegetable???

Vegetarian Recipes: Why Vegans Don’t Consume Dairy Products

As with most dietary questions, vegans are split on the issue of dairy products – not so much on the question of whether or not they are acceptable, but instead for what reasons they should not be consumed.

All vegans (or at least true vegans) abstain from consuming dairy products. Some do so for nutritional reasons; others abstain for ethical reasons.

Those who do it for nutritional reasons cite a range of health problems related to the consumption of dairy products, including high cholesterol. Many also have a problem digesting lactose or have a blood-iron or diabetic problem related to milk protein, casein. In addition to this, milk and cheese often contain small portions of undesirable hormones that are added to dairy cow feeds to increase production.

Those who abstain from consuming dairy products for ethical reasons also have a range of reasons for doing so.

Some cite the poor treatment of dairy cows as a main reason for not consuming milk and cheese. They note that dairy cows are forced to become pregnant once each year to maintain a constantly high yield of milk. They are also fed numerous steroids to increase production.

Others who abstain for ethical reasons often cite the maltreatment of dairy cow offspring. They note that calves are not allowed to spend time with or suckle from the mother, but instead are prematurely removed to be reared for either veal production, beef production, or as replacement dairy cows.

The calves selected for “veal” production are often forced to live in crates so tiny that they cannot turn around. They must face in one direction; they cannot groom themselves; and they are fed hormone-laden feed until they are sent off to be slaughtered.

If you are a prospective vegan, you may want to take some time now to think about what is best for you. Ask yourself whether you wanted to become a vegan for ethical reasons, dietary reasons, or both. And from there, determine whether or not these arguments were strong enough to compel you to do so. I am thinking of adopting a vegetarian lifestyle…I’ve heard plenty of people talk about how great it is, but I would also like to hear from other people who tried a vegetarian diet but realized that it wasn’t for them (& why)…just to get both sides of the story…I’m a female distance, and my only concerns are whether I will be able to get enough protein & iron in my diet…OH, and I’ve been eating strictly vegetarian for about a week…so far so good-just didn’t know if I should be looking for any bad long-term effects…Thanks so much!
