Try doing it slowly, I find that it is easier than doing it all at once. I became vegetarian when I was 12 and this summer turned vegan. My boyfriend is vegetarian.
There are different kinds of vegetarians. Lacto vegetarians are vegetarians that eat dairy products however, they do not eat eggs. Lacto-ovo vegetarians are like lacto vegetarians, except they include eggs in their diet. Pesca vegetarians eat everything that lacto-ovo vegetarians do but they also consume fish.
Vegans do not eay anything that comes or is an animal. (no meat, fish, eggs, milk/milk products/honey. etc)
Vegetarians and vegans do not eat gelatin, and rennet.
Here is a great website that has many no fat recipes. I tried a few of them yesterday and they are GREAT!!!

First off most vegetarians eat eggs and or milk products they don’t eat any products from animal corpses. Gelatin which is found in jello, marshmallows and some other things is not vegetarian. Neither is rennet which is a substance from calves stomaches that is found in some cheeses.
A vegan does not use any animal products at all. No dairy no eggs no leather etc. Veganism is more a lifestyle while vegetarianism is a diet.
The best way to get started is to get a vegetarian starter kit and start learning about nutrition.
Here is a good starter kit

im no vegeterian but i know vegatarians dont eat…
Meat, geletan, or any other MAJOR animal byproduct
Vegan means no animal byproducts at all. but they do get plenty of protiens. they usually use soy milk and soy cheese for dariy
Go slow. Pick one day per week at first and fill it with the best vegetarian meals you can find. Keep in the fish and cheese as it will keep things less extreme, BUT don’t start eating blocks of cheese and pizza all of the time. Once you find more recipes and people to support you, soon you’ll be a veg head (and probably lose 10-20 pounds). Good luck.
Hi *Smile*… You begin by not eating meat any longer… If you are ready to become a vegetarian it shouldn’t be too difficult and remember if you have a craving there are plenty of veggie meats to have in place of meat!!! Some of them are quite tasty!!!!!
You can eat all vegetables and fruits, nuts and seeds, beans and lentils, grains (preferably whole grains) and anything else that isn’t meat or a slaughter by product. You can eat eggs and dairy if you choose to. If you don’t eat eggs and dairy you are considered a strict vegetarian.
Don’t eat gelatine (in some yoghurt’s, some chewing gums, some sweets eg: gummy bears, and other things), some red dyes are made from ground up beetles (sorry I don’t know what number it is in the US), here is a little bit about it http://www.snopes.com/food/ingredient/bugjuice.asp … Also don’t eat rennet as has been mentioned before, the poor baby calves!!!! I don’t understand why they use animal rennet any longer when there is a perfectly good vegetarian rennet they can use!!!!! You also should make sure your alcohol that you drink is vegetarian, they often use ox blood or the swim bladder of a fish to get rid of the cloudiness of alcohol…
Vegetarian’s eat just about everything except all forms of meat, that means NO fish or chicken either (some people think you can still eat fish and chicken and be a veggie!!!! *Eye Roll*) and no slaughter by products eg: rennet & gelatine… As I said if you are a strict veggie you can’t eat eggs or dairy either. You can be a lacto-vegetarian if you choose to eat a vegetarian diet but just use dairy and not eggs, or if you want you can be an ovo-vegetarian if you choose to eat a vegetarian diet but use eggs and not dairy. The standard vegetarian is an ovo-lacto-vegetarian, meaning a vegetarian that eats both eggs and dairy.
Vegans don’t eat ANYthing from an animal (eggs, dairy, meat or by products), they also don’t use anything derived from animals eg: wool, silk, leather ect… If its from an animal it doesn’t go in their mouths, or on their bodies. They try to live as kind of a life as they can. *Smile* Its a lot harder to be a vegan than it is to be a vegetarian…
I hope I have helped you out, even if it was a wee little bit!!!!! *Laugh* Good luck with becoming veggie, its one of the best things you can do for yourself!!!!! *Smile*
