    eat tofu

and you can get milk and cream made from soya beans which has nothing to do with animals and can be used as an alternative

sounds like you want to become a vegetarian…..that doesnt mean you have to be a vegan. take one step at a time…taking meat out of your diet, is great, but why dairy? are you saying that milking the cows is cruel?

You can look for recipies off the internet. It is quite easy to become vegan, I've been a vegetarion for 3 to 4 years now and it's been quite easy. I suggest that maybe you begin by giving up meats. You can eat everything else, there are great meat substitutes for vegetarians and vegans that cost almost the same as their meat counterparts.

u might be allergic to those products and that might be one of the reasons that u wanna quit them. get tested now and let your mum know the results. the same happened to me when i wanted to become a vegan. it was hard for my mum. if you are over 16 your body is almost ready to accept this change. if you are not keep eating some meat and drink milk for your bones. there is milk that comes from rice and soya.. they arent too expensive. eat fish instead of meat, thats what i do. as for more recipes search the web and you will end up finding that there are plenty of choices out there that dont include meat. sushi is good!

You don't have to do anything. Humans eat meat and it does not mean any one is cruel. Grow up.

well, it's a big commitment and i would say that if you make the decision to be a vegan you're pretty much gonna have to start cooking for yourself. plus, just because you make a life changing decision like that doesnt mean your mom has to change her life for it. it was your decision so isnt that kinda selfish to want her to change her lifestyle or have her cook something extra for you everyday just because you made a life change? and i'm sure she works everyday so that's kinda unfair to ask her to to that.

i hope i dont sound mean i'm just trying to help you look @ the situation from another point of view.

the first thing you should do is invest in a vegan cookbook. try it out for a week or so and see if you can keep up with the cost of ingredients and if you like the way the food tastes.

best of luck, i hope everything works out for you!

If you don't want to eat dairy, then don't, you don't have to take a vegan oath or anything. if you do eat vegan and your mom cooks, say steak for dinner, you're not going to get sick. a lot of people seem to think vegan are as sane are serial-killers or something, I don't quite get it, but if you want to be vegan, by all means, try it! at the same time, not eating meat/dairy because of animal cruelty can be hard, you have to be very strong-willed to be vegan. honestly I have no ethic problem with beef that's from local farmers, that's organic, I just don't like red meat (which also is the least environmentally friendly). it might be easier to just eat mostly vegetarian, but also eat fish. personally I don't know how I could survive without eating at least some dairy, even though I drink soymilk, I still eat cheese and use butter…plus eating out would be near impossible with out allowing dairy products.

    please read your question.
Why not just talk with mom
you don't have it straight in you head.
This cruelty junk does not account for the basic problem.
    FEED the masses
if the industry demands a 1000 cows be killed a day
    Forget your problem
the Government has stepped in to monitor the slaughter
but even the Jews and muslims hold high respect for the animals
    But you still have problem,
    I can't help
    follow the fad.
