I hate how cruely people kill animals for food and I want to become vegetarian but I’m not really keen on eating vegetables everyday.
What should I do?
Is there anything I could do or do I have to carry on eating meat?
oh by they way, Im only 13.

Most animals are killed very humanely as there are rules governing how an animal is allowed to be killed. If we did not kill animals what would happen to them as they have no other "predators" other than man? Who would want to have cows, pigs, sheep, or chickens if they were unable to have them to use for meat? Would these animals fall into disease, which is more cruel than humane killing?
God gave us meat to eat. Meat has good protein that our muscles and bones need. When an animal is raised correctly (if a cow, grass fed) then that animal is superior in vitamins, minerals, and protein. It can be very difficult for most vegetarians to get enough high-quality protein in their diets.
Beans are a high source of protein, but they are still not as good a source as meat, do not contain all the amino acids, and are not as good a source as eggs for health.
Why don’t you try to find locally-grown meat that has been raised and killed in a humane manner, and try to eat high quality foods for optimal health? As an omnivore, my issues are more related to the poor quality of meat raised on a foreign diet (grain-fed), in bad conditions, and processed far from home, so I try to buy local as much as possible and always try to buy meats free of growth hormones and antibiotics. Food animals were made for just that~food, and so we must not forget that they have no other real purpose to serve.
I have friends who raise both cattle and fowl and they are very humane with their animals. the wife especially is concerned with animal welfare and sustainable farming practices. It is very possible to find people in your area who are just as concerned about how animals are treated as you are.
We all must be very careful that we do not equate animals on an equal ground with humans since God gave man dominion over animals. We are made in the image of God; animals are not. However, with dominion comes responsibility, therefore we are to be good stewards of what God put us over and to not be abusive. This keeps all things in perspective.
I hope this has helped.
i had the same prob 3 yers ago but i gave up. but u dont have to
. u dont have to eat vegetables and say to ur self *meat is muder*
i know EXACTLY how you feelk
I wish there was such thing as a part time vegeterian LOL
i bbecame a vegeterian for 5 months which for me, is an achievment becuae i used to eat meat EVERY single day.
You just need motivation, what kept me going is everyone telling me that i ocucldnt do it. Just try it our for a bit see how long you can last and everytime you feel like eating meat just think about the poor anilmas starring back at you
im sorry man being a vegetarian might not be for you
well its abit stupid if u like meat but not the idea of them bein killed but u hate vej but u want 2 bcum vegitrian :S
so what you would really say that your own sense of morality can be overcome by you "not being keen" on something? Grow a backbone and commit
also vegetarian is not the same as eating nothing but vegetables either.
If you really man what you say then you’ll take the sacrifice of not eating meat. If you don’t then you never really believed in it in the first place.
You can eat fish and the vegatables that you do like and fruits.
If you like meat eat it and dont think about the animals. if you like veggies eat em. if you like both eat em both. its all based on your will power.
You need to eat vegetables everyday even if you aren’t a vegetarian!
They are where all your vitamins, minerals, and fiber really come from. You cannot live without these things. The only nutrition meat has is protein and vitamin B12, which you can get from plant foods. If the taste and texture is really what you want, you can still get them from plant based foods. There are many meat replacements out there, so keep trying different ones until you find the one you like the best (I love Field Roast brand). If you truly care about animals and value compassion, you should stick to these values by incorporating them in your daily life by not eating animals.

There’s plenty of stuff to eat that’s neither a vegetable nor meat. For example, fruit, rice and cheese!
You’re probably thinking of very common vegetables like broccoli and green beans. Try heartier veggies like portobello mushrooms (they’re practically like eating meat!), black beans, squash. Instead of boiling or steaming vegetables, roast them to bring out more flavor.
Always eat the freshest vegs you can find, and try to shop at a farmers market, vegetable stand, or health food type grocery instead of a supermarket.
Try ethnic foods, like kabobs, pastas, stir fry, etc., from cultures where meat takes less importance. And fake meat, usually made from soy, can satisfy you sometimes if it’s good quality.
surely you can become a vegeterian within one month . you start with 2 to 3 different types of vegetables per day .the 1st few days you think u need the non veg .but u have to continue with your ambition ofcourse within one month u will think u cannot eat non veg. Even if some one is forcing u for the non veg u are unable to have.U did not like the taste of non veg.
Eat peanut butter, whole grains, beans, pasta, and mock meats or tofu for protein.
For iron, have fortified cereals, kidney beans, dried apricots, prunes or raisins. Plant irons are harder to absorb than animal source irons, so try eating vitamin C too (in the same meal as the iron source). Some vitamin C sources are citrus fruits, grapes, apricots, plums and watermelon.
Eat a lot of whatever vegetables you do like, and a lot of fruits for vitamins and minerals.
A good breakfast idea is Total cereal. It’s fortified with so many vitamins and minerals. You could even have it with fortified soy/rice/almond milk, if you’re into any of those.
If you find yourself lacking in any areas, try a supplement. It may also be a good idea to go to your doctor and get a blood test a few months into your vegetarianism to make sure you’re healthy.
As for liking the taste of meat: SOY
Mock meats are pretty good, and they’re usually good sources of protien and iron. Try Boca and Morning Star. Some things from Smart are okay, like their fake sandwich meats (Smart Deli), but some other things aren’t so good (like Smart Dogs), so be careful there.
Oh, and one of the answerers above me is wrong. If you want to be a vegetarian, you cannot eat fish.
If you have any further questions, just feel free to send me a message. I like to help ^^

age has no problem.. my sister because vegetarian at 13 and she still is at the age of 17.. you can always get boca burgers & other imitation meats.. i’ve actually tried one and its not so bad.. though they do tend to smell.. but they will satisfy you enough.
when i became a vegetarian, i wasnt big on veggies either. over time i kept introducing myself to new veggies and i found the more i ate them the more i liked em. u might have to choke a couple servings of brocclie down before ur tastebuds start to agree with it. now i think most veggies taste great and im so glad i did it!
if u arent willing to do this, then become vegetarian may not be a healthy or practical choice for u
I really the Morning Star fake meat products especially their Chik Patties. Even my dog who is very far from being a vegetarian goes crazy for Chik Patty scraps.
They satisfy a craving for meat.
Good luck to you! And remember "progress not perfection"… it took me over a year to become a full vegetarian, but I’ve been a vegetarian now for over 5 years.
It’s great that you’re thinking about where your food comes from and what’s in it at 13!
Unfortunatly, you do need to eat vegetables. No matter if you’re a vegetarian or not. Thing it, you just need to make them taste better. I was a veggie hater when I was younger, until I was introduced to the Asian stir-fry. Honestly, if parents made their five year olds eat stir-fry instead of raw carrots, there’d be no problem with it. Experiment with different vegetables and ways of cooking them from around the world.
As well, if you’re really craving meat, or your family wants it, there are plenty of substitutes that you can buy at the store.
If you’re seriouly considering it, check out a book that will give you the basics. You need to know what you’re doing, but it’s not too complicated.
There is a lot of different varieties of vegetables out there, and I’m sure you don’t hate them all. Mushrooms, beans, squash, tomatoes, lettuce, peas, carrots, rice corn, etc. You can also try out different recipes to make vegetable meals better like a vegetable pizza or vegetables with noodles. I’m also very fond of the vegetable lamein offered at a Chinese restaurant near where I live. You can fulfill all needed daily nutrients if you just work out how much you need to eat and of what.
If you simply want to become a vegetarian because you are afraid how to animal was treated, why not go to your local butcher or farm instead? You can actually see how the animals are treated, and most small business farms are very humane with their animals. You are also helping a local farm, who are slowly going out of business.
If you cannot find any butchers around you, try and get organic meat at the supermarket. Do as much research of the product as you can before you buy, and see what goes in the meat, how the animals are treated, etc.
Hope I helped.
You need to discover the joys of eating Quorn. A lot of their products taste similar to meat, but it’s low in fat and good for you.
if youre serious about being a vegetarian then ur gona have to acclimate yourself to the taste of vegetables.. cooked properly with the right ingredients they can be awesome! without mean and vegetables, itll be really hard to get everything you need nutrition wise, which is the most important thing
My son felt the same at age 12 and gave up meat – he is now 33 and has not eaten any meat or fish since he was 12. Get your mum to work out an eating plan with you
This is a response to the length post from Lori S. Lori, you are a troll. Go push your mythology on someone else. Seriously, you’re on a vegetarian website pushing religion? Why don’t you take your bible and put it somewhere the sun don’t shine. Oops I guess that’s where your mouth is. Good luck in with life.
