One of the main things is that to eat meat like a cow or a pig would require at least 1 field of food to feed this animal. Which would require large amounts of water, energy, along with other things. but vegetables and fruits make their own food due to photosynthesis, saving resources, money, and the environment.
Darkleaf~~
the more dead vegetables, the better!
Vegetarians are crazy. But since vegitarianism results in low libido they are less likely to reproduce and thus that is good for the overall gene pool.
Factory farming contributes to global warming. Factory farming is responsible for methane gas emissions. Meat eaters are responsible for environmental destruction by sponsoring these industries.
All I know is that it is horrible and devastating for the economy.
cos animals raised for meat produce methane which is dangerous for the environment
rainforests are cut down in order to raise cattle and thus oxegen and trees are depleted
According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization livestock are responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions than all forms of transportation.

Well, essentially animals are a "middle man" to human nutrition.
We have to feed the animals grains, in order for those animals to feed us. If we cut out the middle man, the animal, then those grains can go directly towards feeding human mouths. This is good for the environment because the amount of grains it takes to yield one pound of beef amounts to much, much more. The same principle goes for clean water.
Factory farming also contributes to greenhouse gas emissions. Even if you don’t buy in on global warming, you can understand that excess methane isn’t good for anyone, and that the biggest source of excess methane on earth is from animals that are factory farmed.
No it does not. That’s what pro vegetarian propaganda wants you to think because it helps them promote their existence and the food companies that support them. It’s a competition for your food budget and all tricks are being used to ensure they get a good size fo the pie.
The idiot monkey who keep pointing the UN FAO study needs new sources. The study he keeps pointing out was made in 2006. A newer study done February of this year point to human industrial activity as the main source of global warming. In fact, it does not even mention farming in any form.
It isn’t. Vegetarians just like to THINK it’s good for the environment. We all know they’re deluded.
You’ll help reduce waste and air pollution. Circle 4 Farms in Milford, Utah, which raises 2.5 million pigs every year, creates more waste than the entire city of Los Angeles. And this is just one farm. Each year, the nation’s factory farms, collectively produce 2 billion tons of manure, a substance that’s rated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as one of the country’s top 10 pollutants. And that’s not even counting the methane gas released by cows, pigs and poultry (which contributes to the greenhouse effect); the ammonia gases from urine; poison gases that emanate from manure lagoons; toxic chemicals from pesticides; and exhaust from farm equipment used to raise feed for animals.
i’m amazed at how ignorant some people on here are.
if you want to strip it down to the very basics, one person becoming a vegetarian doesn’t do much to help the environment. the animal-user industry will not grind to a hault tomorrow just because you went vegetarian today.
in the bigger picture though, if a majority of people went vegan (since vegetarians still support the animal-user industry, including the veal industry), pollution and rainforest destruction could be greatly reduced over time.
since this will probably never happen, the best thing about abandoning animal products is knowing that you’ve taken a step to remove yourself from that process.
