Becoming Vegetarian.?

I have been wanting to become a vegetarian for a while now. The thing is I don’ t know how to get started! I don’t know how to grocery shop for the foods to give me the the nutrients I need. I hardly eat meat anyways so hopefully doing this wont be as hard as I thought. The only meat I eat is chicken. I do eat dairy products though, but it is all organic. Please help me get started!! =] Thanks ya’ll!! =D

Unless you’re a no lacto-ovo vegetarian, dairy is okay. As far as grocery shopping, you should be shopping with protein in mind.

Any kind of beans, nuts, quinoa, tofu, tempeh…. these are all excellent sources of protein, and once you learn to cook them properly I am sure you’ll really enjoy them.

I’d suggest a good vegetarian cookbook, just until you get the basic process of cooking these foods, and what they respond well to. For instance, i’ve never had luck with baking tofu or anything like that.

I encourage you to take the leap! It’s a bit difficult at first, but once you get the hang of it i’m sure you’ll enjoy it. And you should feel better, too. I feel a lot cleaner and healthier when i’m veg than i did when i was a meat eater.
